Horse and Cabin with Mount Massive in the Background

Trying to do one image per day or at best one per week.

The first one is from a group of photos that I took on our way to Leadville, Co.
It was a warm day, but we could see snow in the distance on Mount Massive.
This final image attracted me. The feel of the scene was perfect.
I love old abandoned buildings, horses and mountains.
So this seemed to the best combination.

Mabry Mill

Had a bit of time today to paint while the rest of the family was off climbing mountains. Has been ages since I have taken any time to paint. Took a bit of time getting back into the swing.

This is a painting of Mabry Mill that Peter & I visited last Fall.
Intend to return again as the possibilities for paintings and photographs are endless!

Wisconsin Lutheran College Art Fair

On Saturday, Peter and I showed our art work at the Wisconsin Lutheran College's Art Fair on 88th and Bluemound.
It was a very hot day and transporting our tent and art work to the place where we were going to set up was a bit difficult. But we made it with the help of a cart that we borrowed from one of our neighboring artists at the show. Thanks David!

The show was busy. There were people stopping by our tent to talk all day. That is between the music that was playing on the lawn. Kids from Wisconsin brought in alot of people to the show.
It was good to see old friends who stopped by to say "HI" and good to meet some new friends who share our same interests in art.

We were able to pack up and put away all of our art work before the storm hit at 6PM.
Stopped for a much deserved meal at a restaurant and watched from inside while it stormed outside.

Beavers had the munchies!

Discovered several points in the park
where the beavers had the munchies!

Spring blooms are here in Wisconsin

In was in the 80's on Friday. Quite unusual for Milwaukee in April.
We decided to check out the spring blooms in Whitnall Park.
We are happy to report that the blood root are up and Peter did not waste any time getting "up close and personal" for their yearly portrait.
What he won't do to get that perfect picture is yet to be found!

Peter at the Overlook on the Daniel Boone Trail

Foggy morning on the Daniel Boone Trail

Foggy morning in VA on Hwy 58/Daniel Boone Trail.
This picture was taken in October as we were heading
east from Ewing, VA to Williamsburg, VA.
The morning started out with a light dusting of snow on the ground.
The view from the overlook on Hwy 58 was breathtaking.
Incredible sights. Frost on the spider webs as we explored further.

Is it Spring yet?

After seeing and hearing the robins in the park last week, I
figured spring could not be far behind. Who cares if there is
a little snow on the ground?
I am anxiously awaiting spring and thought that a painting
of a beautiful butterfly landing on a cone flower would give
us a taste of what is to come!

Santa Truck

As we were driving south on HWY 42 in Door County,
we spotted this truck along the roadway driven by
none other than Santa.
And he was hauling 2 snowmen, a Christmas tree and
presents in the bed of the truck!
Cute!

"Brisk" is what the weatherman said

On one of the coldest mornings of the winter season I rose early enough to get a predawn image of the Cana Island lighthouse. With a wind chill factor of -15 degrees, I call it cold.

Christmas Eve in Tennessee

On Christmas Eve, Peter & I decided to take a drive north of where we were staying in Crossville, Tn.
Peter's plans were to go for a hike.

We ended up in the Big South Fork National River Recreation Area. Unfortunately the Nature Center was closed early that day due to the holiday. Looks like a great area to travel back to in the springtime.
We did find a short trail that I was able to do with my cane and that sufficed for the day. There was evidence that snow had fallen here earlier in the day. The John Muir trail was close by and we saw that 2 days later as we were traveling to Virginia to visit my sister and her family.

Art Show at Soup's On

We will be dismantling our current show at
Soup's On at 221 No. Water Street next week.
This would be great time to see our work and
enjoy some fresh homemade soup and bread while
you are there.
Mary makes some great soups. Menu changes daily.

Stop in out of the cold and enjoy 2 treats!

In Jan. we will have a show at Pyramax Bank on
North Water St. in Milwaukee's Third Ward.
That show will open to the public & up until the end of March.
It will include some of our Milwaukee images as well
as some images that will make us think of springtime!

Never too early to think spring!

Return from our trip to Tennessee

We returned from our trip to Tennessee a couple of days ago.
Peter took many pictures. Blue Ridge Mountains, old settlements etc.
Weather was great. 40's & 50's.
Such a difference from our normal Wisconsin winter weather.
Was a nice change of pace.

I was not able to do much photography this trip as I am rehabbing
from surgery and a minor set back.
Will be putting up some of Peter's images on our
Photo Shelter website within the next few days (hopefully!).

Watch for updates.

Revamping our Website

Reworking our photography website for the new year.
Trying to incorporate Photo Shelter where we are showing most
of our current images.
A lot of work to do on this.
Very time consuming.
But it will look oh so nice when completed and be
easier to update.
